Description
Components:
- Rhodes grass (Chloris gayana)
- Smutsvinger grass (Digitaria eriantha)
- Small buffalo grass (Panicum coloratum)
Benefits of mixture
- All three components are palatable perennial grasses possessing good digestive traits and can be well utilised as standing hay.
- The species complement each other. Rhodes and small buffalo grass establish quicker and suppress weed emergence. This affords the Smutsfinger component a weed-free basis on which to establish over time.
- The mixture is suitable for most soil types.
- The mixture is managed according to normal Smutsfinger management practices.
- The mixture also combines well with legumes such as sweet white clover.
